Loss Prevention in Processing Plants and Pipeline Terminals


Sava carried out fire and explosion safety reviews for two refineries, one fuel storage terminal, one gas plant, one gas pipeline terminal, two oil off-loading terminals, one chemical plant and one metal refinery. This was loss prevention work, the objective of which was the review of implementation of assessments of technical risks, identification of possible inconsistencies and the identification of remedial actions. The work Sava performed was:

  • The preparation of review methodologies;
  • Site surveys;
  • Reviews and updates of the identifications of hazards;
  • Review of the existing assessments of risks, consequence analyses and carrying out the assessments of potential escalations;
  • Supervisions of in-situ tests of selected safety critical elements such as firewater systems;
  • Reviews of the facilities escape and evacuation procedures, and interfacing with the Country Fire Authorities;
  • Facilitations and chairing of the Emergency Response Reviews Workshops at the facilities in the attendance of facilities Units Managers;
  • The preparations of Reviews Reports and plans on the combined responses and actions of safety critical elements and personnel.
